Professional liability insurance

The lawyers are insured against professional liability with HDI.

Complaints procedure

We are affiliated to the Consumer Complaints Board for the Legal Profession. The complaints officer, L.P. Lagerweij, is responsible for dealing with complaints.

Retention periods

Your files will be archived in electronic form. We retain files for five years and administrative records for seven years. After five years we only store rulings, judgments, convenants, original deeds and settlement agreements for 15 years where applicable.
You may also collect and store documents yourself if required. In that case you may contact the secretary of the relevant lawyer or the reception desk in order to make an appointment to collect the relevant documents. In such a case you will be required to bring proof of identity with you and to sign a notice of confirmation of receipt when collecting the documents in question.

Law firm registration

The advocates listed below have registered the following principal (and secondary) legal
practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal areas:

a. mr. P. Scholtes is registered for Immigration law, Asylum law, Criminal law and Legal representation for victims;
b. mr. W.N. van der Voet is registered for Asylum law, Immigration law, Legal representation for victims;
c. mr. B. Manawi is registered for Personal and Family law, Immigration law and Asylum law.

Based on this registration, they are required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in
each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the
Netherlands Bar.
